About
Eric Glass and Sam Marrella hail from Reading, PA, about an hour northwest of Philadelphia. Attending the same high school, they both went separate ways for college—Sam to Albright College in Reading, PA, and Eric to Temple University in Philadelphia. After graduating, both setup shop in Philadelphia. Reconnecting in the city, the two played many rounds of golf together before coming up with the Greenbriar Collective idea. They each realized they loved the game of golf and wanted a way to share course photos and other golf content - without clouding their personal feeds. We all know most friends and family rolled their eyes at what we would consider a reasonable amount of golf content! GC allows them to dive deeper into the game while sharing some of their favorite content with those who love the game.
How it Started
Greenbriar Golf Company started out as a way to catalog and document different courses during the pandemic in the Spring of 2020. With the help of friends, family, and co-workers, Sam and Eric were able to get out and experience different golf courses up and down the east coast. As a way to organize these trips, Eric and Sam came up with "The Collective", a collection of photographs, write-ups, and most importantly the memories. Golf is a sport that is meant to be shared... luckily, we have shared many rounds with great people who have become great friends! Looking forward to the rounds to come.
The Tree Logo
Greenbriar Golf Company's name originates from the name of the street, Greenbriar Drive, where you will find LedgeRock Golf Club, "the home course." The logo has various meanings behind it that break down into three main parts - the tree, the flagpole, and the thirteen stars. The tree is the eastern hemlock, Pennsylvania's state tree which represents their home state. The red and white flag pole pays homage to LedgeRock's candy cane flags, a staple to the club. Finally, the thirteen stars on the flag represent the City of Philadelphia, where they currently reside. The culmination of these bring out the true meaning of who we are and from where we came.
